STAMFORD, CT and ROCHESTER, NY, March 12, 2004 – Aris Global, LLC a leading provider of technology solutions to the life sciences industry and Research Dynamics Consulting Group, Ltd (RDCG) a specialty Contract Research Organization (CRO), today announced that the two companies have joined forces to assist pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device organizations improve clinical trial execution and control costs through the use of e-clinical research technology and improved business processes.
The two companies began working together in September, 2003 when they formed a strategic partnership to provide a new paradigm in clinical trial management by maximizing the use of web-based technology. Research Dynamics joined the globalTRIALS™ Management Solution-Partner Program, a collaborative solution development consortium, to work with Aris Global and industry thought leaders in the design of advanced technology solutions to meet market needs. “For years, clinical research professionals have attended conferences, trade shows and case study presentations in search of new methods to manage clinical trials more efficiently. Speakers are often questioned about the systems and tools used to manage their studies and the answer is almost always the same - multiple disparate systems and databases, MS Office applications and labor intensive processes”, states John D. Kofoed, Director of globalTRIALS™ Solutions, the next generation CTMS product developed by Aris Global. “Although many companies have implemented commercial-off-the shelf (COS) data management (DMS) and electronic data capture systems (EDC), trial managers acknowledge that they still need to resolve many of the same issues they faced before investing in DMS and EDC,” adds Kofoed.
Aris Global began deploying CTMS applications in 1989. In 2001, the company released the first version of globalTRIALS™, a web-based, enterprise–class technology platform and a suite of applications capable of integrating all of the people, business processes and systems involved in designing, managing, conducting, recording and reporting of trials. “After development of the core application, we began to look for a select number of sponsors and CROs that had a strategy to implement new technology and would commit to working with us in analyzing business process, workflow and change management issues. Collectively, we have been developing best practices, integration and phased implementation methodologies that take into consideration internal processes and extend to external business entities in support of the outsourcing model.”
“We are fortunate to have a partner like Research Dynamics. The staff is passionate about the project, they have extensive experience in SOP development and training of CRA’s, and the CEO of RDCG has worked directly with other companies in defining functional requirements for early clinical trials management systems. We began discussions immediately after the DIA last year," adds Kofoed.
Research Dynamics has emerged as a leader in the CRO industry for championing a more cost-effective and efficient clinical trial conduct model. Lorraine Ellis, President and CEO of Research Dynamics explains: “The key to a successful trial is timely information flow – among all members of the study team. A properly designed CTMS utilizing web access technology, when combined with the proper workflow and processes to capitalize on that technology provides real time trial status information to sponsors, sites, and CROs. Informed decisions can be made faster, and changes can be implemented more quickly when information is immediately available”. globalTRIALS provides the foundation to do just that and more. “Aris Global shares our vision of using technology to optimize the entire clinical trial process and has worked with us to tailor globalTRIALS™, a system that is flexible enough to help us meet the varying demands of our clients” adds Ellis. “Our partnership with Aris Global is one of the cornerstones of the strategic alliances we have formed to turn our vision into reality”.
Research Dynamics and Aris Global have developed workshops and consulting services focused on improving workflow and clinical trial management practices in order to optimize technology investments.
